BIO
Jess Slaght (she/her) is a New York City based director and the Artistic Associate at The Public Theater. She creates socially-conscious theater that invests in community and transports audiences to heightened worlds. ​
​
Jess is an alumnus of the Paul A. Kaplan Program in Artistic Producing at Manhattan Theatre Club and has developed work with The Public Theater, NYU, Playwrights Horizons Theater School, The Tank, The Bushwick Starr and more.
​
She also serves as Administrative Director for the Professional Non-Profit Theater Coalition, a caucus of artistic and executive leaders from over 150 companies in all 50 U.S. states. PNTC seeks to influence federal legislation and increase relief and recovery funding for the good of the field.
​
Jess is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley where she studied Theater and Performance Studies & Media Studies.
